School Site Council InformationTop of Page

Each Oakland Unified School operates with a Site Council. Site Councils decide many important decisions regarding school finance, instructional materials, and issues/events of the school.

By law, each School Site Council(SSC) must have at least 1 student representative.

Site Councils:
  • One of serveral school committees
  • Deals with budget
  • Comprised of the Principal, teachers, students, parents, and community members
  • meets once a month on school campus
If you are interested in getting involved with your School Site Council(SSC), please ask your principal about joining.

Many student groups have been successful at receiving $$$MONEY$$$ from their School Site Councils(SSC) for student/school-wide projects and events.

You must present a PROPOSAL to the SSC in order to receive funding.
